Who of the relatives and friends shall be told about your work? How to behave if the client is your parents’ neighbor? Here is some practical advice for girls.

When they found out

My mother found out about my work by accident. I came on their marriage anniversary, and left the phone on the table. A stupid habit that I can’t learn – not to put a phone and bag on the table. My manager knew I was out of the city but suddenly decided to thicken my schedule with one new client. It read: “Mia, on August 22. 42 years old, married, BDSM, bottom. Loves being tied and drops of wax on his chest. Asks that you were wearing red latex.”

How do you disguise?

Here is a message accidently read by my mom. Of course, I said that it’s just a fetish, like I don’t have sex, I just despise men for their money. A lot of girls say so, by the way. It is senseless to moralize, especially since I was always helping my parents as a good daughter.
By the way, they did not divorce, and soon I helped them to buy a house in the suburbs of Riga.

Hide & Seek

In short, the mother still tells her friends about my phenomenal career of a culturologist.
Many girls successfully hide their work not only from parents, but even from their husband. They play the bartenders, croupiers, masseuses. I have even heard fantastic versions of the work in the secret services; in this way it must have been easy to explain freelance night trips  on the job.
Part of the girls work as models, among us there are photographers, interior designers and journalists. What’s strange for me is to live in constant fear of being exposed. One SMS – and your world will collapse.

Do’s and Dont’s

I vote that the relatives knew about your work, and it’s not so bad – to tell it yourself. It will take long time to explain, to break stereotypes, but it is much less painful for them than seeing you with clients or if the client suddenly is a family friend. One of my friends once served her mother’s lover, and then he intimidated her for several years, and the poor thing had every month to give a right smart of money for his silence. I always advise to lead the life of a man who has nothing to hide, or live far away from family, that they could see only a beautiful facade of your life.

 

What to do when

But if you caught a friend, acquaintance or colleague (many girls are simultaneously working on good positions in large companies) – tell him that you’re not ashamed of your work. And do not have sex with him.
